News from Scotland's Poet Laureate - Susan Powers
In the fall of 2024, Susan Powers hosted a series of Writing Workshops for adults on the first Tuesday of each month. Poets, poetry lovers, and writers attended to share their love of writing.
The Youth Creative Writing Workshop met at the library on the 2nd Tuesday of each month this past fall. Children ages 9 and up were welcome. Susan introduced various styles of poetry to the group. Some of the work they created can be found on the Children & Teen page of this website, along with the work created by Parish Hill High School students in spring of 2024.
Susan has done readings at local libraries, attended a poetry seminar, and was awarded a two week writers residency fellowship in 2025. She plans to return in the spring to host more writing workshops. Details forthcoming.
