News from Scotland's Poet Laureate - Susan Powers
Susan is helping the library celebrate 20 years in our glorious building with a special poetry reading on Saturday, June 7 at 10 a.m. as part of our "birthday" celebration.
Stop by the library in May and June to see the stunning Ekphrastic Poetry (poems inspired by visual art) that students created during Susan's visit to the Parish Hill High School in April 2025. Also, 2024 work by Scotland Public Library teens and Parish Hill High School students can be found on the Children & Teen page of this website.
Susan has done readings at local libraries, attended a poetry seminar, and was awarded a two week writers residency fellowship in 2025.
