The Palace Project 

Enjoy thousands of free eBooks, audiobooks, and more from your local library. The Palace app offers you all the eBooks at the library in one easy-to-use app, so you can search once, find your title, and start reading in just a few taps.

To get started, download the Palace Project app to your device. Select Scotland Public Library, enter your library barcode found on the back of your library card, and your PIN from your Verso library account. Now you are ready to enjoy a variety of eBooks and e-audiobooks. Contact the library with any questions.

Overdue items are subject to the following fees:

Books, Magazines, CDs, Books on Tape/CD, and Music CDs - .05 per day per item

DVDs – $1 per day per item

Please note:  Fines will be waived when items are returned.

Passes to area museums:

Passes circulate for 3 days.  Please note that some passes are for specific days of the week.  Plan your visits accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Curbside Pickup?

You may request books (limit 10), books on cd (limit 2), movies (limit 3), and magazines (limit 5). Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is available,  but please limit your requests to 5 items or less and publication dates older than 6 months.

Call the library at 860-423-1492, email us at [email protected], or complete the Google Form. Provide your name and telephone number or email address so we can let you know what is available and when it will be ready for pickup.

Return all items to book drop at the library

Do you have passes or coupons for area attractions available?

CT DEP – State Parks & Forests Day Pass – free parking and entrance fees at all state parks including Dinosaur State Park, Fort Trumbull, and Gillette Castle State Park.

Connecticut's Old State House in Hartford, CT - Free admission for up to 4 visitors.

Connecticut Historical Society Library & Museum in Hartford, CT - Complimentary Family admission to the galleries.

How do I get a library card?

Scotland residents may apply for a library card during regular library hours by showing a photo ID.

Cards are issued for five years and can be renewed at that time.

Your Scotland Public Library card may be used at all Connecticut public libraries.
